Is it normal that this is making me crazy?

Ok so a few years back when i was 14 i was caught shoplifting. Anyway i got arrested then i got my DNA and fingerprints taken.

This went on a huge database and is never coming off again, this is driving me insane, they cant do ths, i have human rights? I was 14 and now they have my DNA!

Also i wasnt even convicted!, i just got a warning.

This is driving me insne, Is this normal?

Also, how would you feel if you as a kid or your kid had their DNA held by the police?

It's a controversial topic. Should they just keep everyones DNA in a database just to make it easier to track criminals?
Okay, so you were 14, but it's protocol. Where do you draw the line between criminal and "mistake." They can't say oh, well we will give this 14 year old kid more rights than this 30 yr old man even though they are both shoplifters.

Did you think about the shop owners rights when you stole goods from him?

Stop being so paranoid. It's not like they keep your entire genome on file. Just a small fingerprint region so they can identify you if you commit a crime...or even if it is needed to identify your body. It can be used for nothing else. So unless you are planning on committing another crime, you have nothing to worry about.

Why do you care if they have your DNA? I know that I wouldn't mind. They can't use it for anything, and if anything it will stop you from being wrongly convicted later on. I would happily give the government my DNA.
I know that I am the minority in not caring though, so I guess that you are normal.

Bah, I think it'd be nice if we would all have our DNA in those computers. It'd make crime stopping quite a bit easier.

And the only thing this does is give you a bigger chance of getting caught when committing crimes. Just abide with the law and you'll be fine.

You should not have shoplifted in the first place. There`s going to be a consequence.
