Is it normal that this is happening to my teeth?

Hey guys, well I have really sensitive teeth and am constantly getting cavities.

I had a root canal done last week on the right side and have since recovered from that. This week I had the cavities on the left side of my mouth taken care of. I'm supposed to get the right side done next week but I'm scared to go back because I'm still in agonizing pain.

I wake up in the middle of the night and can't get back to sleep until I take some sort of pain reliever (I have to wait for it to kick in of course) and it's been 4 days. Am I having an allergic reaction to the nova cane? I've always used nova cane to numb my mouth during an oral procedure, but this time was different to say the least because it didn't seem to wear off completely for nearly 18 hours.

Has this happened to anyone else?
If it makes a difference, this is a new dentist I'm seeing. He did the root canal and that, I suppose, went okay..it seems to be deteriorating, he'll look at that next week.

If you're in pain, I wouldn't wait until next week. Call the dentist and tell him you're in pain. Lots of things can happen with fillings and dental work.

It sounds like you're going back to the dentist sometime soon regardless, so just ask them if it's normal. Also good luck to you! It sounds like you're in dental hell!

oh dude, i feel for you. Im 22/f and got senstive teeth at fuck! everyone compliments me just how straight and 'perfect' they are if only they knew,,, i got one pulled out, 3 crowns and 8 additionall fillings.. its horrible, and my bottom left 3 have caught infection :(..

go doc and get that shit sorted, the more you leave it (like i did and my tooth had to eventually be pulled out) the worse!

Ouch... No, I don't think that's normal, but I'm not sure.

    I currently have cavities, myself.
Haven't even made a Dentist appointment in two years or something.

Phone your dentist's office and tell them your still experiencing a lot of pain; reschedule your next appointment for another time. Give your body a chance to recover from the root canal first before you put it through more misery.
