I hate how just because 2 people of the opposite sex are close friends they're automatically called a couple. Unless the relationship status is confirmed by the friends themselves, it's stupid to call them a couple. It just seems a bit presumptuous. That's one of the most important lessons in life: Never assume anything about anyone.

    A very trivial thing to get irritated about. I have never even ran into two friends of the opposite sex being called a couple unless stated by them.
