Is it normal that this happens when i brush my teeth?

Is it normal that my gums have been bleeding when I brush my teeth?

I brush my teeth 3 times a day. In the morning, when I get home from school, and before bed. This has never happened to me until recently.
I was brushing my teeth and I saw that the toothpaste in my mouth was turning orange, so I spit it out. Then, I realized that my gums were bleeding.
When I went to rinse my mouth, it stung really bad. After this, I came to the conclusion that maybe I needed a new toothbrush. So I got a new one, and the same thing keeps happening. Only it seems to be getting worse each time I brush.
It's very painful when I eat food now, it stings/burns really bad. But what hurts even worse is brushing my teeth! More blood keeps appearing each time.
My dad told me to take a break from brushing my teeth for a while, but I don't want my teeth to turn yellow. He's going to take me to the dentist, but it will be awhile because he's always busy.

Is this normal? And has it happened to any of you?

Maybe you are brushing to hard? Try getting a softer bristled toothbrush and going easier on your teeth as well, and I'd recommend seeing a dentist too, it couldn't hurt.

That's one of the first signs of gum disease. It's surprisingly common and can result in tooth loss. Seeing a dentist is a good idea.

I have great tips for you, instead of brushing teeth use banana peels for teeth whitener and mint gum or just mint to freshen the smell. It seems a little weird but it works for me.

You're brushing way too much! Scraping away your enamel, and you don't grow any of that shit back! Cut it down to about once or twice a day.

it is actually very common, people here refer it to gum disease but it is merely an infection int he gums, this type of things run in the family and can be mitigated by simply going to a dental hygienist, he or she will clean out your teeth properly (It will be painful as fuck though) once every couple of months. Ask your dentist, he will surely know what you are talking about.

hey i work as a dental nurse and it sounds like gum disease to me DONT stop brushing thats the worst thing you can do i know it sounds silly but i hear this every day its very common so dont worry about that :) what you need to do is make sure your flossing atleast once a day i know not many people do but thats the only way to clean between your teeth, a tooth brush cant do that job. also you should be using a soft bristled brush and make sure to not scrub at your teeth or damage your gums but do brush near them to remove the build up because if its left sitting near your gums it will make them inflamed and bleed. it will seem like theres alot of blood but they will only stop bleeding once they are clean by you brushing twice a day and flossing also go to your dentist and get a check up and a clean because they can only get of all the build up and depending on how bad the gum disease is they can also clean below the gums. hope this helps

Get a softer bristled brush, and see a dentist. My gums bleed when I get a new tooth brush until I have "broken it in" because I tend to brush very hard.

Get a soft toothbrush or sensitive toothpaste. When you floss do they bleed? I'm by no means a dental expert so please see a dentist if it keeps happening.
