Is it normal that they left me?

Let me be clear on this; I'm not wailing for sympathy...I just want answers. My family is deeply dysfunctional. When I was 11 my father left, after getting us evicted from our house. My mother, brother and I lived in a hostel for a year. My father has continuously snubbed, insulted and ignored me, refusing me any financial help. His side of the family ignore me too. My mother, who was sexually abused has been emotionally distant and hasn't shown me any affection EVER. When I was 14 she got pregnant and moved in with her boyfriend, leaving me to live with my then 15 year old brother who has bad ADHD. I have had to lie to teachers and authorities for the last 4 years so I don't get taken in to care. The rest of the family know, but only ever contact me when they want a free babysitter. I now suffer from bouts of depression and anxiety, especially when people comment on my sometimes awkward personality. I just want to know...is it normal to be left like this or is something wrong with me?

I feel for you pal. Make some changes although it'll be difficult. The poster above me is really true in what they said. Be good and focus on you.

Find a good relationship - girlfriend or a good pal, or better both. Try well in school & maybe find a part-time job in the weekend to help yourself financially if you have the motivation. Your normal, but if your parents are unthoughtful like this then bring yourself up the way you think you need to.

Damn well yeah is definitely normal to feel this way. I would too, is not your fault and seems like you're a pretty strong person. So I suggest like other people have is get help to cope with it, before it gets to you a little more emotionally. And yeah your dad is definitely a coward. And don't worry karma will get to him. Best thing for you to do is move on and be stronger which you can achieve from what it seems like.
