I'm not a grandpa, but those topics seem interesting to me.

You're lucky. All my elderly mother talks about is herself and her hatred for everyone.

One day she said, "I don't like (so and so)."

She almost fainted when I asked, "Sure, who do you like?"

Hit it home that I've never heard her say anything nice about anyone, and if she does it's totally false in front of them.

wait until they start talking about all their friends that have died or have gotten sick, medications, funeral homes, seeds in their dentures ext....

I guess old people don't have a lot to talk about because they don't do much anymore. All my gram talks about is TV because that's all she ever sees. And lol @ the first comment!

*sigh* They've lost touch with their youth. You could try changing the topic and getting them to talk about something else.
