Is it normal that the smell of metal hurts my teeth?

In pottery class, we had these metal tables, and sometimes it would really hurt my teeth to smell them. I also work in retail, and anytime I have to handle a bunch of those metal pegs, I can smell the metal and it hurts my teeth. Anyone else have this happen?!

    That's really interesting! Maybe you have a type of synesthesia, which definitely isn't common.

    the nerves in your mouth are insanely screwed up because your mouth moves so often. this means that sometimes things that shouldn't Hurt your mouth really do
