Is it normal that the simpsons does this?

This has happened to me countless times and it kind of freaks me out because I love the Simpsons so much, but almost every time I watch it, it seems to coincide with something that happened to me previously that day. Like if I talk about something with someone, there is like a Simpsons episode on later on the subject if I happen to watch it... or at least a short reference.

For example, it has been weeks since I watched the show and today my boyfriend and I were talking about the cracking sound of a whip. I flip through the channels and find the Simpsons is on and it ends with a Spanish guy whipping a doorbell back into shape...

Is this normal?

    Happened to me twice in two days and I remembered it. If it doesn't happen for the next two weeks, I won't remember it not happening.

    It's just a perception thing.

    I mentioned a random Simpsons blooper in a random episode and told my sister id show her next time that episode was on. BAM, next day it's on Fox. Soooo many episodes and they show the same 20 all the time.

    i love the simpsons too. the show has been on tv for years, so there's been an episode on everything. :P

    That used to happen to me a lot when I watched TV. It's weird, definitely, but how many times has it NOT happened compared to how many times it HAS?
