    That's "arse" in the Queen's English, thank you very much! She seems like quite the busy bee to me, because you see, she goes to all those ceremonies, and does that weird hand wave thing. It's a well established fact in the Lang of Eng that it's a code to her fellow aliens. There's a little electronic device in her hand, it's like a satellite or something. Beeeooah beeeeoaah. By Jove, I think we've found the Queen Bee! Best not say too much against her, or her swans will descend! Feisty buggers, those things...or so I've heard.

    Is this a troll post?

    She doesn't own the UK, and NI is part of the UK.

    The Royal Family receive something called the Sovereign Grant from parliament (via us through taxes). This pays for travel, maintenance of their buildings and other expenses. The Crown Estate, that's all the property owned by the royal family, generates revenue of over £200 million a year. They receive 15% of that, whilst the rest goes to the treasury and comfortably pays off the Sovereign Grant. They actually generate profit for the UK when you think about it.

    I'm not a royalist but I think they are useful ambassadors for us. I'd rather a group of apolitical ambassadors in their place, mind you, appointed based on quality of character and achievement rather than bloodline... but for now they serve a purpose.
