Is it normal that some people have told me i sound like my parents?

Okay... so I have lived in America my whole life, in the state of Ny. My parent's and the rest of my family, except me and my sibling's, grew up in Brooklyn and the other half in Queen's. I have a few friend's from there as well.

I go there often, and growing up I went there often, but I still never actually, "grew up" there, so technically, I consider myself a country girl. However, I've had friend's and people, tell me that I have a little bit of an accent that makes me sound like my mother. I never realized this, but apparently the way I say certain word's I sound just like her. (Ex: When my mother say's, pass the butter. She say's it like: Pass the butta.)

I also think that being around people with an accent my entire life, I have picked it up without realizing I'm doing it, when I do it. I find it kind of odd that my sibling's don't really have this mysterious accent though. I mean, how could I have it and they don't? I'm the youngest too. Does being the youngest mean I'm more susceptible to it? And has anyone else here been told that they sound like there parent's? I'm not that young anymore though. I'm out of hs, and in college now.

It's "they're" not "there". But besides that, I'd say that this is completely normal. This happens to me all the time.
