Is it normal that some people absolutely hate paintball?

I love it but it HUUURRRTTSS!!!

I love paintball. I have a regular group of friends I play with, but it's also fun teaming up with complete strangers and then making new friends out of them. It's also a great way for me to exercise! (Ignoring the consequential bruises, of course)

I understand if someone would dislike paintball, but to completely diss it? That sounds rather narrow. It's like hating someone for liking the color blue.

To be perfectly honest, I don't know anyone how hates paint ball. But maybe I'm being a bit blind.

A valid opinion, here's the thing though: I don't normally see this type of response, mostly because the ones who love it or hate it are normally those who voice their opinion. Most who are indifferent, my best guess, never thinks about it until it pops up on a site like this, I suppose. But, just the general collection of thoughts I have seen or heard personally gave me the impression, lol which is why I made an IIN post.

I've never played paintball before, so I can't say I love it since I've never actually experienced it. I don't have a strong desire to necessarily play it, but I'm not opposed to ever giving it a try. I don't hate ppl for playing it or wanting to play it.

It's a valid point, yes. Maybe some one had a morbid experience with guns in the past, just never liked them, whatever it may be. But to go so far as to say people who like guns is borderline homicidal, that's a bit out of line I think. A hobby/sport does not always have to come with a label, just because some one else thinks otherwise or doesn't know anything about it so they assume it's for maniacs. It's a very well regulated sport, and teaches discipline and safety around "guns" if you can even call them that. Also, NRA doesn't recognize them as a firearm, by technicality and by purpose. For example: a fencer doesn't automatically go crazy and start stabbing people with a sword, as a boxer doesn't go around beating every single person he can lay a hand on. For they learn control through the sport or hobby.

Its like a game of laser tag, except you use paintball guns instead of silly plastic light guns, and when you're shot, you're out until the next game. Imagine something close to a game like modern warfare, or halo. Everyone has a paintball marker (the "gun") and you can play a team vs team game, or go so far as to play a scenario game, such as attack/defend a building, capture the flag, etc etc.

The sport can be expensive to start, and the first few times getting shot by a paintball sucks. But once you get past that, and have all the essentials, it truly is a great recreational activity, and an "extreme" sport, that is great for stress release, building team work skills amongst peers, and of course just all out fun.

Of peple who like guns is borderline homicidal maniacs. Then there are people who think appreciation of guns is completely sane. Did you know that there are parents who didn't want their kids to even have wter guns just because they were shaped as guns?

I dont dislike anyone who likes it. But I really hate painball. I had a stray paintball hit me on the side of the face when i was walking down the sidewalk an few years back. If it was only a few inches to the right I would of lost my eye my doctor told me. Im now actully terrified of the damn things. Seriously My whole side of the face was seriously swollen and i couldn't see out of my eye for a while until the swelling went down. But again its not those who play it, just the paintballs i hate.
