Is it normal that some keys on my laptop are worn all the way through?

I have had the same laptop, since 2007 and I have typed several hours a day, every day for the last 5 years.over time the keys have worn.First the letters wore off, then the keys became flimsy as the keys themselves wore.Gradually i noticed that the keys had begone to wear out compleatly. Now the "e" "r" "t" "a" "s" and the space bar have worn complealty through.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Very common if you often use the words: rates, tears, stare, aster, tares.

If you're an observational florist who has to measure the speed at which two different plant species grow, it's almost inevitable.

    For me, it's: A, S, W, N, K

I think that's because I do naughty things while imagining Hilary Swank.

I guess it depends on how long and frequently you've been using it. One of my laptops I've had for about 3 years and used to diligently type on it, now not so much. The keys aren't worn, though. It might be time for you to get a new one or replace the keys.

It's better to type 'voyeur' over 'stare' to get to the good stuff.

Wow, that's hardcore typing right there! I type frequently, but apparently not NEARLY as much as you do. I've never heard of someone wearing completely through the keys before. Maybe you could buy replacement keys somehow? Or completely remove the keys and just use the buttons underneath. It would give your laptop a unique look, that's for sure. It also might confuse someone who is not so adept at typing, lol.
