Is it normal that some homeless people smell like poop?

I'm not talking about body odor like sweat and stuff. I'm talking about a poop and urine smell. I have known some homeless people that smell like b.o. and thats normal, but on occasion i'll run into one that smell like they have been rolling around in their own piss and poo. Whats up with that? I have been homeless and without shower before but never smelled like that.

    Maybe they got drunk and pissed themselves and can't afford new clothes or something. Still disgusting. But they probably don't care.

      yea, maybe they were drunk the night before and pooped themselves and are not smart enough to wash their clothes in a stream or something.

    Being homeless slowly changes the way you think about the world and what your priorities are. I don't know how long you were homeless for, but probably not long enough to notice this.

      I have know people who have been homeless for years that don't smell like poop. Maybe the ones that do just dont care and make themselves smell like that on purpose

        As ever, the world isn't black and white. People aren't all one thing or another. There's a spectrum. And one end of the spectrum is very much that; an end of the spectrum.

    It is normal. Except that when I go to a homeless, often more I notice the smell of pee. I guess like everyone if not shower or change clothes.

    One time I was in a major city for a parade and this homeless man stopped to watch also. Not only did he smell like you said, but also had winged bugs on his scalp. We all had to give ourselves space. Not much move around availability because it was sooo crowded. It did gross me out but I felt bad for him too. He had mental issues also.

    One time I was walking down the street and I was 2-3 blocks away from my house and the strong stinch of shit started to invade my nose's personal space. I had no clue where the smell was coming from until I eventually saw a man walking...I had a feeling it was him but I wasn't sure so I jogged a bit to catch up with him and there I saw it: Shit was all over the back of this homeless man's jeans.

    I casually waited 10 minutes for him to go pass my door...
