i have a 12 year old niece and i caught her watching a porn video and masterbating. i just want to know is this is unhealthy or if it will affect her future in any way.

Completely normal, and don't listen to the trolls- she's probably not having sex. You might consider talking to her about sex / porn / masturbation though. Let her know the basics. Masturbation is a very normal and healthy thing for someone her age to do. I'd offer an opinion on porn, but I'm sure you have your own ideas and values regarding that. I would suggest *gently* offering her your views on porn, so that she doesn't feel guilty or shamed, but she understands how you feel.
Mostly just know that it's normal, and it would be wonderful if her parent(s) would help her feel OK about her new feelings! She probably wants to be reassured it's normal, too!

I believe it is normal, she is just becoming more hormonal because of puberty. Porn isn't good to watch though because it will give her false ideas and thoughts about sex.
