Is it normal that she feels fat?

My cousin, who is now 12, is going through puberty. She's already had her period and had growth spurts and gown hair..in...places... and gained weight and is starting to get a figure. She's in the normal weight zone now, (She's 5'3 and a half and 126 LBS) but is she really just skinny and the puberty weight makes her a normal weight? She says she thinks she looks fat, and I want to help her. Help?

No offense.. But yeah, I think thats fat. Girls in my high school 17/18yrs weighed 55Kgs

But don't worry about it though.. the company I kept were all fitness freaks though. We all excercised together and stuff. So we were healthy.

Get your cousin to exercise... Thats what I'm saying. It doesn't have to be weight lifting and shit. The girls I knew were really into running..

I think people shouldn't worry about their weight and live a good life. Because why does she want to be skinny? Sex? Attention from others? People nowadays only care what other people think of them. You should be happy if your proud of yourself. Making others proud of you comes after making yourself happy and proud.

Maybe get her into something active like sports or dance if she isn't already. That might help with health and confidence.

  • I think most women feel insecure about their image so it's normal.

You just need to be a positive propaganda machine, constantly pounding it into her head that she's beautiful, gorgeous and utterly breathe taking. It's unavoidable; she will eventually believe you.

Unfortunately it's normal in our society. Just tell her she looks fine, maybe take her shopping for some nice clothes to make her feel better about her body.
