Is it normal that sex ends after marriage?

This is something I dread. I hear it everywhere that your sex life gets dull and dreary once you tie the knot. I really don't want this to happen to me and my future hubby and I feel like I won't. But, I want to know how normal you guys think it is that sex ceases after marriage. Have you experienced it? How badly does it suck?

Is there anyone out there that still has an active sex with their spouse?

I haven't been concerned about this up until recently. My fiancé and I have a very healthy sex life and we both have extremely high sex drives. Him and I believe that we will continue to have sex, but have been told my many older friends that we're just too optimistic.

On the flip side, there are tons of couples who are still attracted to each other and have sex regularly.

I figured, but I guess I never really hear anything about that. Maybe that's because on this site I only see people complaining about lack of sex haha

You summed up this site's community perfectly. In my opinion a healthy relationship yields sex. A lot of people aren't really in a healthy relationship. Most, I would say, are selfish and only concerned with their needs and happiness instead of each others, like it should be. Hence, sexless marriages, cheating spouses, and divorces all over.

Exactly, if you aren't having sex then you are not in a healthy relationship unless the decision is mutual. I've always hated that women use sex as a weapon or a bribe. Like, "if you do the dishes we'll have sex." I plan to keep my spouse so happy that he's going to do the dishes because he wants to, not because I nag him or bribe him with my vagina. I definitely have no intentions of ever withholding sex when I'm mad either. The women who do that are missing out on some seriously awesome sex.

Well thank you for giving me hope, you've made this worry less of a worry for me :)

It's up to the pair of you to keep your sex life fun and exciting.
If you fall into a boring sex life you have no one to blame but yourselves.
With the help of the internet and the gazillion books written on the subject, you two should be able to keep your sex life fun, exciting and interesting for your entire life.

Excellent, I'm happy to hear that! Both of us have no intention of falling into that slump and we're always looking for creative ways to spice things up.

I'm just tired of people telling me that if I have sex while I'm married, it's because I'll be cheating. I hate that idea. In my mind there is absolutely no reason why sex can't remain fun and exciting for the duration of my marriage.

      Thank you :)
