Is it normal that seeing people apply lip balm makes me angry?

Everytime I see someone use lip balm it makes me so angry! I don't know when or why I started getting like this but it really makes me mad. I'm not a vain or a jealous type but whenever it happens it really peeves me off. It just makes me feel like SCREAMING. Urgh. Is it something to do with prior habits (ie drug use, drinking, phobias?)? Does anyone else have this?

While I'm back here, I'm thumbing this up too. I can't believe I didn't get the joke first time around. Tough day. :/

Please, please no trolling. This question really means a lot to me. Even thinking about it makes me feel queasy.

you should try masturbating. unless that makes you queasy. in which case go to the stock barn. i hear the show ponies are kind of uptight about the cows and their udder balm.

  • Why? It's just balm to stop lips chapping and more so, none of your business.

I'm not asking people to stop it. I'm asking why it makes irks me and if anyone else gets it. I've had OCD in the past and I just wanted to know if this was some common quirk or a specific part of that.

I don't suffer it any more but my lips used to get chapped to the point where they'd split and bleed down my chin. You surely wouldn't get mad at me protecting myself from that?

Of course I'd feel bad about it but yeah it still wounldn't not annoy me. It's like when you hear babies crying. You know they can't help it and it's irrational to get angry but you still feel like putting hot coal down their babbling mouths.

Tsk you, trying to trip me up in a double negative. Wouldn't not! :P

The babies crying thing kind of sold me, though. Despite initially disagreeing with you, and also having suffered some really seriously painful chapped lips in the past, I'm going to thumb up your comment for actually making me stop and think. Always a good thing. Enjoy your +1.

Lots of things make humans unreasonably angry over stupid things. For me it is sneezing. The sound of someone repeatedly sneezing [like hay fever sufferers] makes my blood boil, even though I know it is not their fault and I am being totally unreasonable, I want to punch them!

I do it because I can't stand the feeling of not applying it, and having dry lips. That makes me angry. XD

Like you said, it could be that you developed a type of OCD. It doesn't seem like it bothers you too much, but if it really gets out of hand, then there are always specialists that you can see.

I agree - with the others.... I don't see where it's your business what others apply to their lips.

Lip balm is good for keeping lips from being chapped, and keeping them moist and healthy.

If it bothers you... it sounds like a personal problem.

    • I've been a victim of lip balm abuse. It started off innocently with my uncle. He used to make me go on all sorts of trips with him. Then this one night he made me sleep in his tent. He reached down into my pants and started shoving this lip balm into my anus. I'll never forget that moment. However in the morning my asshole felt as smooth as velvet!

It's not 'normal', but it could be explained. Do you get like this with anything else? I do this with people who don't step on tiles the right way. That's my OCD, though. It could be a different thing for you. It's not something to be worried over, as long as you don't act on it.

Yeah I do have OCD actually I'm pretty sure it's that I just wanted to check with other people rather than embaress myself in front of freinds and family.

I'd hope your family would understand. Oh who am I kidding, most people who don't have it don't understand. Heh.
