Is it normal that perfectly reasonable posts and responses vanish?
This is happening very frequently recently and I don't understand why clearly written intelligent questions and their responses suddenly become unavailable.

This is happening very frequently recently and I don't understand why clearly written intelligent questions and their responses suddenly become unavailable.
It's the nature of this site. If you feel emotionally invested in something you wrote, make a copy of it.
By the way, your post has a high probability of vanishing, as most posts complaining about the site do.
I didn't mean questions I'd sent in, I meant other people's questions. And yeah I was prepared for my post to not turn up so am pleasantly surprised it has, although I won't be surprised if it vanishes fairly soon
They got reported by someone and sent to the 'awaiting moderation' section. They might later get approved and reappear, otherwise they get deleted.
Thanks, I thought that could be the case. I think it's ridiculous that we don't have to give a reason for reports: surely that would make the mods' job easier? If the reason was pointless it could be ignored at that stage rather than sending stuff for moderation and then having to decide. Just thinking out loud, I know nothing about moderating a website and speculating
