When I was younger me and my friends would play with each there hair. Strangers have touched mine over the last few years and I wanted to punch them. Especially that drunk tub of shit at the bar that one time. Grrrrrr
I do find comfort in people petting my head. It can be very relaxing. And I do have really soft hair.
A few people I know well are like this with my hair too. They also play with it. I like it when people do stuff with my hair, though, it's very comforting.
A lot of my white friends like to touch my hair because I am some what mixed and have wavy hair. I am black though. The person who does this the most is my girlfriend and I do not mind that at all, I almost require it from her.
Among friends, yes. Strangers, not so much. If you don't like it you can always ask them to stop.
