Is it normal that people think i'm a lesbian

Everyone, including my parents, believe that I am a lesbian. I don't understand why I must be gay just because I don't fit the steryotype of a normal girl! Is it normal that people say I'm gay just because i never wear dresses/skirts, can't walk in heels, love playing tackle football, and am not open with my emotions? I don't show interest in guys, but I also dont show interest in girls. I am just not interested in dating period! I also like to wear baggy clothes from time to time, however, to me, I don't act lesbian in any way. Just because I'm not a prissy girl doesn't make me gay! (not that there is anything wrong with being gay. im just not)

You sound like a typical "tomboy" to me. I'm the same, I'm not girly, can't wear heels and hate dresses. I grew up playing sports with the neighborhood and barely have any friends that are female. Yet, I am married and have kids and don't like girls in a sexual way. It's normal in my book!

  • Let them think what they want, you know what you like and what you want. Don't let their judgements affect you. Even if you were a lesbian, there's nothing wrong with it.

It's funny, cuz people thought that my friend was a lesbian. They only thought that because I would randomly pinch her cheeks/be affectionate (just to weird her out) and she would do the same.

What's even funnier is when she started talking about her boyfriend, they all freaked out (her boyfriend goes to a different school).

You're not alone, and you shouldn't give a damn what people think.

If you're not interested in dating anyone or interested in either gender altogether you could be asexual

People have always been like that. You have to be exactly like them and if you act different, you fit into a different group than them. I hate people for that reason. Just be yourself.

I like girls that are like girls but not gossip freaks so I'd date you if I knew you so it should be easy to get a bf

Society doesn't seem like it's made any progress if people who don't fit rigid gender roles are considered gay and lesbian.

You're normal and society is to blame. I personally think people who go against society's norms are cool, and I'm far from alone in the matter. I doubt I'm even alone in that I think tomboys are cute.

It's the same for me. Doesn't help that I have a few lesbian friends. My mum gets all suspicious if I even mention they came over! If you yourself know you're not then you're not, simple as that. I usually try not to put any overt "GUYS I'M NOT GAY" signals out - people misinterpret it as insecurity. Just be what you know you are and they'll know the truth in time.
