Is it normal that people only talk to me when they are depressed?

I am kind of the lone wolf type. I don't mind having few friends, but I find certain things disturbing.

I notice that people usually approach me when they have problems or are depressed. I don't mind hearing about their problems or giving advices at all, I am quite tolerant with these kind of situations. I guess that my discreet and reserved personality makes people trust in me and open their hearts.

However, I noticed that people never (literally, never) want to hang out with me when they are are happy. Usually I have to ask people to do things, and later, I see that people get kind of bored with my company. The greatest stories in parties or social meetings are usually when I am not present.

I guess I am kind of boring, but I just don't get why people can act so kind when they need help and so indifferent when they stop needing you. So, is this normal?

I am a Lone WOlf too and it's no fun. Dude, you know 10 years ago your grand parents had a tractor and model T car. Their form of excitement was fucking each other and maybe why they had so many babies. TOday you got theme parks, water parks, jet skis, quads, motorcycles, speedboats, parasailing museums and you have roads you can travel freely. You have so much technology. No reason to be bored. Get the fuck out there and ride the REBEL YELL and yell mother fucker yell!

Well it is normal that it happens, but you do not need to pander them if you dont like it. I have a friend like this too. We are in different cities now and it is more obvious than earlier now, when he only mostly calls me when he wants to crib about things. But I have chosen not to take all that negative energy onto myself and just try to cut him short. I do feel bad because I want to be concerned about his situation but then it also gets too much for me sometimes.

  • the people who u helped thru a crisis , dont want to be reminded of that sad time , imprint something different on their brain when u see them next time... approach them cheerful , forget the sadness cause they have , a happy meeting from u , see you soon :D
