Is it normal that people never return what i lend them?

I always feel guilty saying no, but I have a 99% failure rate at getting my possessions back every time I lend them out. I've had people go as far as straight out telling me they are keeping the item to down right insisting that the item is there's when I point it out in their living room. Is this just happening to me are do others also have this problem? I am at a point now where I will only lend something out that I care very little about. I wish people would just return my stuff.

Shakespeare said, "Never a lender, nor a borrower be!"

Put your name on the things or let them see you writing it in a book - and get them to date and sign it.

Some people are very arrogant! How dare they! Lend them f all in future!!

Stop lending your stuff. The stuff they kept is stealing and you could press charges if you want to get them back. I have a hard time saying "no" to certain people, but I never borrow or lend things. If they "need" it that bad then they can just buy it. You have to learn how to say "No".

One of my EX bestfriends was wearing my necklace without asking to use it (so I didn't lend it to her). When I pointed this out she said it was hers and her sister found it. There was a crack in the back and I said if its my one there will be a crack in the back of it, she refused to even look. I've always regretted not sticking up for myself and demanding she give it back as it was a present from my daughters father who passed away a few years later. Get your stuff back and don't lend anything else again unless you (like someone else suggested) write it in a book and get them to sign it. Explain why you need to do that and they should understand an be willing to sign it, if not, don't lend them the item

You could ask them for something in return.

  • Stop lending out your stuff. You want to know why they do this? Its because they know your dumb enough to loan them stuff again. They will never give the stuff back because they think your too much of a coward to do anything about it. Stop being so naive and start realizing that not everyone is nice like you. To be honest almost nobody has any respect for people who let themselves be used. Their not your friends. Tell them to give back your stuff. If you can't kick their ass then either make a police report or kill them while their sleeping. It will teach them a good lesson.

I would take that shit back! If I know it's mine and they said that I'd just take it right then and there! Screw them they'll get over it. >.<

When I loan things out, I ask when I'm going to get them back. Surprisingly, some people decide they don't want it after I make that request.

You must have some good stuff. It's kind of flattering they want to keep it.
