Hi everyone. So I have this...thing, when people cough over and over, it annoys the hell out of me. I just wish they would take a friking puff of a Ventolin inhaler. Sorry for my irritable personality, I cant help it. Is this normal?
I hate it so fucking much too. Hearing someone cough at 3 am constantly, waking you up because they smoked for 30 years, makes me want to cut their throat with a knife.
i totally must say i agree with you, i moved in with my mom and stepdad about 4 months ago and my step dads a room away from me. He coughs, hacks, and wheezes all fucking night when im trying to sleep, and wakes up and the second he moves, walks, gets out of bed, whatever he starts coughing.Its loud, prolonged, deep and fucking gross never mind fucking down right insufferable and the absolute fucking worst part of it is in a matter of mere seconds ill hear him light a cigarette, 2 min after waking up and coughing. This guy is so outta shape, smokes, and its a miracle hes not hospitalized yet. Oh also snores louder than a mach truck with a bad exhaust leak, that last the entire night. His coughing sprees are usually between 25-35 min long and off and on throughout the day.
I feel the same. There was this person on the bus I take to college who sat behind me and just kept coughing for litrally 20 minutes. The person next to him said "oh my god really?" and I am glad she did because he then moved to the back of the bus. It was quite irritating.
Very normal. If you really have to cough, do it once and do it well.
If you can't then you're either too sick to be walking around, or ignorant.
I feel the same way, too! It's also the same when people keep clearing their throats every other second. But sometimes I feel guilty for feeling that way, too, because it's not like they can help it (at least most of the time).
Yeah that's totally normal - it's incredibly annoying. I've got a new starter sitting next to me now who just keeps coughing! I actually find his cough more annoying than most because he doesn't go through with the cough; he just has a little gulping cough/clearing of the throat sort of sound which he does over and over for minutes on end before finally doing a proper cough at the end. Then the whole cycle repeats itself...
I got so frustrated earlier that I counted in between coughing spells and the longest period of 'silence' was 28 seconds!!
I've walked away from people, even those I'm talking to or meeting with, due to their excessive hacking or throat clearing. My ex-wife had that problem, too, and I could hear her upstairs from my basement office, hacking her brains out. Wasn't supposed to eat cheese, as it made her cough, but wouldn't stop..More than once, I went outside to cut grass just to drown her out.
Sometimes you just get that tickle cough that you can't get rid of. I agree it's annoying but it's also annoying to the one who is coughing. If I'm in a movie theatre, I go to the lobby.
Yeah, it makes me want to beat my stepmom to death- she can't stop fucking coughing the FUCKING BITCH I JUST WANT TO KILL HER!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh I understand your pain here. I seem to get a ridiculous startle response when I hear a nasty vile smoker hacking their lungs up at random. Its nearly always someone who is a smoker, isn't it? How they disgust me!!! I hate them with a passion. I don't care if its an addiction. Whatever! Use a freaking patch, grow some will power, and quit! Or, at least stay the hell away from me.
When a person coughs all the time and no cold. And the constant throat clearing irritates me to the core. Go to the doctor already, your mucous membranes are on overload. Every time this person eats, he coughs, likes he's choking,and no the food doesn't go down the wrong way. I find it very weird and as you already can tell, very annoying.
Coughing used to drive me crazy.

They do not necessarily want to cough.
Coughs for no reason that are so loud and powerful that my eardrums literally pulse from the high pitch sound. I can’t handle it. It takes all my self control to ignore it. So nope! You are totally normal or we are both crazy! :)
It's normal, but I feel like as long as they cover it, then it's okay.
