Is it normal that paxil and alcohol make me psychotic?

I've been an alcoholic for a year and a half now, and I'm going to rehab tomorrow. I've been on Paxil antidepressant for about a month. Is it normal the way the combination of the two have affected me? Apparently I was hallucinating the other day about plates so my boyfriend brought me to the hospital and I stayed in detox for three days. I also feel really 'floaty' in the mornings when I have a hangover. Almost like my body isn't there.

    I've been on Paxil for 11 years, I cannot drink its noooot a good mixture

    Psychiatric meds and alcohol should never mix. It can be a lethal combo if you're not careful.

    I took a paxil once. Later that day I went in a fit of rage and punched a hole in the wall. I cant be sure it was related but I have heard similar stories of paxil causing people problems.
