Is it normal that our son doesn't want to potty train?

He's 8 and no matter what his father and I do, he still refuses to stop going in diapers. He's being homeschooled because we don't want kids to pick on him. He also has Asperger's. My husband and I even tried therapy but no luck. IIN?

Children with chronic illnesses tend to be needy of diapers, is totally normal, on the other hand if there is another child say a younger sibling. I can almost bet that's the reason the little boy won't quit diapers. He's competing for attention.

Some boys do like to wear diapers and want to wear diapers beyond toddler age. They may enjoy how diapers look and feel on them and they don't want to part with something that brings them a sense of pleasure and/or security.

For a normal kid no... but for a child with Aspergers, I am betting most likely.

I suggest you seek help with professionals. Trying to make it entertaining might help but I think you have already tried it.
I wish you the best and a good healthy life for your kid.

I don't know if that's normal for an Asperger's kid but surely you're in touch with expert professionals who could help you with information on how to deal with this.
