Is it normal that only tap water quenches my thirst?

We have a water dispenser thing from Sparkletts, the kind that dispenses hot and super cold water. I try and drink from that water, seeing as it's much cleaner and all that jazz. But I will literally drink 5 glasses of that water, and still be thirsty as hell. Cold tap water, however, quenches my thirst with the first cup. Is this normal? Does this happen to any of you guys as well?

I know what you mean. I don't really like bottled water. It doesn't taste "right" to me and I only drink little sips of it, no matter how thirsty I am. Now tap water? I'll drink five cups even if I'm not thirsty at all.

I think it all has to do with your own personal preference. I grew up drinking tap water.

  • Tap water is so nasty! It's moderately filtered corpse and used tampon water, at the least. I drink "Evian", "Pure Life" by Nestle, and distilled water presently. I would only drink tap water in a disaster situation.

hehe, there isn't a molecule of water on this planet that hasn't been pissed, shat, ejaculated or vomited by a million people and animals in history. It might be Evian, but it's still the Elephant Man's sperm with bits removed.

I know what you mean though. It's better that it happened a century ago, rather than last week. ;)

      • Hah. As far as Evian goes, isn't it better to drink the filth of royals and celebrities? Supposedly, they are cleaner than the great unwashed masses and they piss gold. However, if Amy Winehouse has visited Lake Geneva recently, I stand corrected.

lol, I like Evian too and I think if Amy Winehouse has been peeing anywhere near Lake Geneva, you and I are going to get more than we bargained for when we buy a bottle.

Mmm, tap water. Just make sure the pipes are good or you may get more than you bargained for in that water.

It is the fecal matter that fills you up this much

Yeh I know what you mean- except for me; only tap water from the bathroom (drunk straight from the tap~no glass) after brushing my teeth can quench my thirst.

    Oh, and coffee xD

lol, the stuff in the bottles is not necessarily any better. They actually did a study on this.

I think it's the minerals in tap water that fill you up. There's a lot more calcium, lyme, etc.

  • Yes, I drink more water when it's all filtered but with regular tap water I drink way less.
