Is it normal that one of my pupils is always bigger that the other?

Hi guys. I've had this for a few years and I'm wondering if there is something wrong with me. My right pupil(I think it's my right one) is always bigger than my left pupil. It's kind of weird and I really wanna know if there's something wrong or not. There's this stupid thing some people have told me is if you have one pupil bigger than the other, it means you have brain damage. Please answer, peoples. :'(

  • It's called Anisocoria.

If you have one pupil way bigger than the other it is Adie syndrome. It can be a benign and idiopathic condition.

Depending on how it presents the causality could be Horner's syndrome, or a a parasympathetic nerve defect, including oculomotor nerve palsy.

If you've had it for a few years it probably isn't something cerebrally acute, because you'd be dead by now. Without a good histology we can't be sure.

Or you could just stay off the cocaine.

IN any case, you should be going to an eye professional a little bit more often so you can have this checked out.

I have the same thing, theres a medical name for it...BUT Ive had mine since birth. If its only been within the last few years, I suggest you see a Dr. just to be sure. In RARE cases it can be a sign of a brain tumor. AND the really serious danger is when your pupils do not dilate. But in that case you would have to have significant trama to your brain, & you wouldnt be aware enough to check them anyways!

You don't have brain damage. Pupils change size to react to various stimuli (light, arousal, drugs). There's nothing to say they should always be exactly the same size. Sometimes mine are, sometimes they aren't.
