Is it normal that neighbors can affect one so?
Someone's revving car is making my house hum. I know it will pass but I feel happy now I vented. Are your neighbors annoying you at the moment?

For the most part my philosophy is good fences make the best neighbors. I live in a town house in a small gated community and I've never formally met my new next door neighbor but I can't stand her because of all the banging noises she makes. I assume she's renovating but it never seems to stop. Recently I've come to despise her presence much less because I discovered quite buy accident that I can use her wifi as it's not as password protected. I know its messed up but otherwise I don't care for her too much. God bless her and forgive me for that wifi!
Generally - no. They are really nice people.
The guys living in the flat across the street make a lot of noise. Dealt with them in a very intelligent manner. Called a mate of mine with a loud Suzuki sports bike and asked him if he could do a burnout under their flat early in the morning (after a night of partying and constant noise)
He did, in exchange for a beer at the pub later. A redline bike burnout is enough to keep them quiet. Never had trouble again XD
If they bother you, just try waving at them with your genitalia. It can't hurt.

Tried. Didn't work. And I used "intelligent" as sarcasm. As in, I was angry and needed to teach them a lesson. Fight fire with fire, an eye for an eye...
And it stopped them from being too loud in the future, cause the bike scenario happened at 5 AM...
