myself and my girlfriend love going barefoot yet my relatives that live in the house that we dwell in say that it will harm the feet we told them that its actually safe and more better off for your feet to run around barefoot then wearing shoes we showed them the proof point being they still complain and still are stuck on the notion that shoes are the only way to go and when we do have to wear shoes we wear sandles or moccasins anywho should we continue to run around our yard barefoot or be ignorant and wear shoes like they do

    Ah, ok, on that one:

    On paved ground it's actually true that shoes are healthier. Our movement apparatus is not designed for prolonged movement on super-hard undergrounds(our natural "suspension" is optimized for off-road experience).

    On wooden floors or all natural environs(primarily dirt/grass) barefoot is actually the healthy way to go ^_^

    As for the others: If you just dwell there, is it their house? If so, you could be considerate and act as they wish, however strange it may seem.
    If not and you are equally "entitled" to presence there, just go ahead and do your thing...

      i just don't believe that people wear shoes inside their house. never happened. i'd like to see pictures of this.

    I prefer being bare foot. This is why I loved marshal arts. You could run around bare foot and no one would care. I do have a specific type of shoe I really like however.

    makes your feet stronger, and it's comfortable. not to mention what it does to improve the healthy function of chakras. do what you will. it's your folks who are dooped into wearing $90 shoes made by people who are practically slaves in countries where shoes are a luxury. peace be with you.

    I think it's pretty normal. I despise shoes and so do most of my friends. I grew up going barefoot as often as I could possibly get away with it, and never had any sort of foot problems until I joined the military and had to wear boots all the time.

      You know what's weird? People always complain when I wear pajamas to the market but they call the Police when I take them off.

      I guess with some folks you just can't lose to win. *sigh*

        totally went to the beer store eight times in one night in nothing but boxer shorts and a parka. no shoes, no shirt. no yellow bow tie.

    This reminds me of a friends mom who freaked out because I was barefoot on the lawn. (This was when I was a teen.) She made me put shoes on because she thought I would hurt myself. I gave her a dumbfounded look and told her I never wear shoes outside at home. Which horrified her more because she knew my house was surrounded by rocks and thistles.

    But being barefoot is fine, some people just don't like feet. I'm sad that my yard now has lots of rusty nails and broken glass in it. I like being barefoot but I'm not stupid.

    l play basket ball in the street with bare feet, i walk bare foot as much as i can. but im trying to build my soles up so that i have hobbit feet and can walk on anything.....well except hot sand, they are tough, but stilll burn hot hot hot!!
