Is it normal that my uterus feels like it's going to kill me?

Every single month, for a day or two, I feel like someone is repeatedly punching me in the stomach/sides/back. It's the most uncomfortable feeling I've ever felt, like a tight, numbing pain that nothing will get rid of (smoking weed helps a bit, and so do heating pads but it's still unbearable). It feels like my uterus is ripping itself out of my body. On top of that, the contractions are so strong that it makes me shit my brains out too. Sometimes all I can do is just lay in bed and cry. Everyone thinks I'm faking it or exaggerating.. but I am actually in serious pain. Doctors don't even seem to understand.. they just tell me to take some midol and stfu. Fuck midol, and fuck every other pharmaceutical drug. I'm allergic to ibuprofen anyways.

is it normal for my period to make me this sick???

I had this and discovered I had ovarian cysts. Go to a doctor

But if it was cysts, wouldn't it hurt all the time? Mine only hurts for like a day.

My sister had terrible period pain so I can fully sympathise with your situation. I don't think you are making it up or exaggerating.

It's not the answer for everyone but my sister went with the contraceptive pill and eliminated the monthly nightmare. Be aware that there are potential side-effects and risks, as my sister was, but for her those risks were much less worrisome than incapacitating pain that kept her off school a few days every single month.

I did take birth control at one point, and it did help a bit with the cramps but it gave me insane mood swings, like I was actually psychotic. I can't handle it. There are way too many risks. I don't trust pharmaceuticals at all.

yeah i understand. my period used to cause me so much pain, that i would collapse on the floor crying and almost pass out. probably a good idea to get some tests done and see if you have any issues going on inside and if not then take hardcore pain killers or go on the pill. also, go to a different doctor, the one you have now sounds like a moron. try a lady doctor, they are generally more understanding and caring. good luck!
