Is it normal that my sister still bathes her 10 year old son?

It doesn't bother me, but I just wondered if that is the normal thing to do? My own Son is seven and my wife and I were thinking about allowing him to bathe himself, but my Sister thinks we are mad!

Unless the kid has some sort if issues that would make it dangerous to bathe alone, I think its unnecessary for the mother to do it for him. And how about a shower instead, huh?

This is kind of a double-edge sword for me since, I would find it normal for a mother to bathe her ten year old son if he was either severely physically and/or severely cognitively impaired; however, if he doesn't have any physical or mental handicaps what would not allow him to bathe himself hen, I personally think that what your sis is doing is not normal since I fell that the boy should be able to bathe himself. There is also a possibility that your sister doesn't want to face the fact that her son is getting older and won't need her to help him preform daily activities such as bathing and dressing himself. There are women out there that don't want their "babies" to grow up because they feel that the older their child gets, the less their child will need them for anything.

I do lots of things for my son that he could easily do for himself! I do them because I enjoy looking after him, and because he wants me to.

With this thread in my mind I asked my son if he wanted to start bathing himself.... he said "not yet"

As long as the child is still a child (prepubescent) and does not want to do it themselves, it's fine and just simply is not an issue.

Well I don't think that it's weird per se, and I know that the suggestion that my sister is molesting her son is simply not true.

I do think that she babies him though! Her arguement is that she will bathe him until he asks her not to, and that she wants him to remain a child for as long as possible.

He seems a little old for that if you ask me. However I asked my own Mother, and she said that she stopped bathing us when we was about 10/11 so who knows?

Hell, I'll let the wife decide!

Hey that's fine but she has to get turned on when she's washing his Dick and him getting hard. Hey make him feel good. I wish I got bathe till I was 11 like you or older like 13 and feeling mom rubbing my cock and make me hard and I moan and she says feels good son and I say hell yeah mommy and then she says want more and watch my mom start jerking my cock then get naked and fuck me. Did you mom ever jerk you off or fuck you when she washed you at 11.

10 is way too old in my opinion. 7 is plenty old enough.

Fucking weird. If I didn't know any better, I'd say that your sister was molesting him. That is too damn old for assisted bathing, unless the child is special or injured.

I agree with your sister, but I do think it depends on the child!

My daughter was always the independent  "I can do it myself" type with regards to anything, even when she could not, she was a very stubborn girl. She became quite bashful and self-conscious about being seen naked when she was about eight, and she made it clear to me that she was old enough to start bathing herself. I allowed this, with supervision at first, but then all alone.

My son is ten and is not self-conscious in any way. He does not care who sees him naked. He is a more loving child, and likes to be helped with stuff. He has never asked me if he could start bathing himself, and he actually enjoys his bath time. I'm sure he will tell us when he wants to do it himself when he is good and ready!

To the op....... Does your son object to you bathing him? If so, I think it's time to allow him to do it himself. If he does not mind, why even discuss it?

No my Son does not object. It is tough to get him in the bath, and nearly impossible to get him out!

I think he's to young, As a parent I could not imagine what it would be like to find a child that has drowned~(7) is still to young and can drown in very shallow water!
At the very least you could have a radio in the bath room so you can always hear!!!

It's a 50/50 thing. Is he handicapped? Scared of water or baths? Scared to be alone? Sick? Injured? Or is mommy simply scared of not doing every mommily thing she used to do?

In the case of my mom- she let us start bathing on our own (but kept the door open just in case).

Whenever I had surgeries or were sick, though, regardless of my age (cause having both arms in casts kinda means you need help) she would help me bathe.
