Is it normal that my seven year old brother constantly tells lies?

My brother is always lying. For instance, he'll make a mess in the bathroom, and when I ask him about it he'll lie and say it wasn't him even though he was the last person to use it! Even when I catch him in the act he'll lie and say that he didn't do it. Is this normal?

    he does it for attention. give him more, positive attention at times when he's behaving and you may find he does these things less often. also don't give him the impression you expect him to misbehave by saying things like "you're such a...." or "you do this..." in order to be liked he has to want to like himself.

    Do you have parents that spank and/or yell at their children whenever they do anything wrong. Because mine did, and I was literally scared to death to ever admit when I did anything wrong.

    yes this is normal its what my sisters step kids do and it gets her very mad because she could be standing right in front of her step daughter an she does something bad an my sis catches her and the kid lies about it even know my sis caught the kid being bad.

    just tell him if hes not good the raccoons gonna come out of the heater vent and get him.
