Is it normal that my period is heavy?

Hi, I'm a teenager and my periods are pretty heavy to the point where I'm angry! I have to change my pad every 2 hours or so, and I can't do anything or I bleed like hell! I'm sick of it! What should I do? Is there a way to make my period less heavy? Also I'm worried about losing to much blood. I even get pale sometimes, and feel bad. Any advice? Is this normal?

Ironically your stress that shows in your words is probably causing the heavier flow.
You need to try to relax, and if you have any pain take pain killers.

Another issue is to stay away from eating salty or sugary foods, again this can also lead to heavier periods otherwise.

Whilst on your period you can also take in more calcium and vitamin D, this will help you get through your period.

Lastly the pill can help too. The pill is not just about being able to have sex. It also keeps you regular and generally tells you exactly when your period will end.

Another point of interest, you are not going to die from loss of blood from your period. Your body is actually making more of this whenever you need it. The small (yes small) amount of blood that can be soaked up in a small pad every 2 hrs or so, is not enough to kill you.

By the way, its always helpful to talk to a parent (or friend) about these things. Certainly a parent has been through this for decades and is experienced enough to help you through it.

Take iron pills that can help. You are not going to die but very rarely some women become anemic during their period. I agree with everyone else about the birth control pills.

Birth control pills can definitely help with that as Dad already said. I know there's even specific ones for girls with heavy periods. My periods were always weird where it would be light one month then the next month it would be like niagra falls. Bc pills definitely helped me out.

Some of the above people said a lot already, but talk to family members. It depends on the person; some people just have heavy periods, while some have very light! It depends on the person. Ask some female family members and if theirs are heavy it's not your fault. Everybody is different!

Heavy menstruation is a medical issue which needs to be checked out by a doctor, not solved by internet advice from strangers.

OP, you could have fibroids or endometreosis and heavy periods can lead to anemia. See a doctor, OP

If it is too heavy speak to the doctor. Some birth control can be prescribed and shortens and lightens your period.
