Every time I drink coffee my pee smells like strong brewed coffee that entire day. I even had my hubby come into the bathroom once to smell it (I know... it's gross, but I was concerned). He couldn't smell it, but I swear I could. This only happens when I drink coffee.
I've never noticed it with coffee, but I have with other foods. That happens when the foods we eat contain substances that our bodies can't digest. The chemicals get flushed out through our pee and give off their odors in the process.
Strong smelling urine may, however, be a sign of dehydration, though, so if you notice this a lot, try drinking more water. Pee should be clear to light yellow as a general rule. If its darker yellow or even brown it means that you're not getting enough water. Therefore the other substances are more concentrated and tend to be smellier.
I thought that I was the only one, the same thing happens to me about an hour or so after I drink coffee, & anything else strong tasting I can smell too.
