Well, between two parents it actually is normal. But it's also totally normal for you to think it's weird. Sometimes parents call eachother Mom and Dad because they're so used to doing it when the child is younger because the child needs to hear those words and who to say them to in order to call their parents Mom and Dad.
My parents don't do that unless my Mom is referring to my Dad when he isn't around. Completely normal. Weird? Yes, but normal :)
Hopefully when the kids have all moved out they will remember the person they married has a name as well as a function. I think it is sad, and have seen this happen and its fine when children are small..but not in later years, it shows they have forgotten who they reallly are. the kids have stolen their identities...they are just 'figureheads'
Yes It's normal its probably because they spend so much of their time around you and your siblings if you have any. My parents do it too.
My parents do this also....but I don't always call them mom and dad bc we are all on first name basis when we want to be
My husband and I have a 9 month old son. It starts to show the baby who Daddy is and who Mommy is and I guess for them, it just kind of stuck.
