Is it normal that my nest friend lies to me about her boyfriend

My best friend has had a boyfriend from around the same time I met her. I think he is a wonderful boyfriend to her. What I don't understand is why she always lies to me about when she is with him. For example, if I invite her somewhere she tells me that her mom and her dad don't let her or another excuse like that . At first I though they where strict and just didn't let her go out alot . Not so long ago I found out that her parents are not strict at all, and that the reason she can't always go places with me is because she already has plans with her boyfriend.

What I don't understand is why she just doesn't tell me that she is going to be with her boyfriend . I'll understand a
Nd not question her or advising her on how to convince her parents to let her go .

Maybe she doesn't want you thinking she is ditching you for her boyfriend.

She probably doesn't want u to feel like #2 on her list. But its not like she should lie all the time about it. Confront her and ask y she's doing that

Shes trying to protect you because she thinks it will hurt your feelings if you know she's always hanging out with him instead of you. Tell her that you don't mind. But don't get mad over it. You gotta give the girl some credit for trying to spare your feelings

She thinks she is protecting your feelings, you should discuss it with her if she truly is your best friend.

Ask her in front of her parents.

Would it hurt your feelings if she told you "Sorry, I'm going out with my BF that day"?

    Perhaps she thinks it would.

Confront her! Ask her WTF is going on and why she feels the need to lie to you. She isn't your best friend if she lies to you so callously.
