Is it normal that my nephew's life revolves around violence??

So every time I see my nephew he's thinking about violence. He always pretends he's pointing guns at people, and pretending he blows their brains out. He's constantly thinking about killing and guns and blood. Whenever I try to play toys or board games with him, he always tries to turn it violent. Is this normal , or what?? If not, what should I do??

There are many things in our culture that promote violence, none of these things are good. How old is he? I have a feeling that he hasn't seen a therapist. If he hasn't, he really needs to. This behaviour, this outlet needs to be nipped in the bud before it is allowed to continue to escalate.

  • I was rather similar when I was young, with my proclivity often expressed in school art class. Interestingly, I later turned out to be a quiet and gentle person (if more than a bit hot-headed).

As for your nephew, I'm willing to bet that this behavior finds its origins in the type of media he consumes. Turn off the television.

  • Seems normal if he's going through puberty.

How old are we talking here?

  • Are his parents lazy or something? I'm sure they must have noticed that kind of behaviour and why they have yet to do anything about it, is beyond me. Don't get me wrong, if I had a son, I would rather want him pretending to shoot guns that being a sissy who cries over everything, but that's still no reason for the little guy to turn everything into a simulation of violence. He's going to start hurting animals, if he hasn't already, and one day when he's older, other people. He's going to turn into a bully if everyone around him thinks its okay for him to behave violently. Please speak to his parents about his behaviour.

If I had a son I'd rather he was crying like a "sissy" (what a stupid term) than being violent.

More male sissies, especially in positions of power, would make the world a much more peaceful place
