Is it normal that my native language is beginning to sound foreign to

Ever since I began learning Russian (which wasn't very long ago), its becoming easier to pick up on differences in both different and similar sounds within Russian words, but its becoming harder to distinguish between different and similar sounds within English words. I've looked up how English sounds to foreigners, and that is how English is beginning to sound to me when I don't specifically concentrate on what a conversational partner is saying.

Yes, its normal 7
No, its abnormal 5

Yes i feel you! The same happens to me sometimes when i'm speaking in my native language and out of nowhere some words just start to sound weird when i keep pronouncing them, it just doesn't make any sense to me

Hmm... I dunno, the only languages I have a basic understanding of are German and Spanish. I really do love my native English language and I feel like I prefer languages that aren't especially hard for me as a native English speaker.

I have the same problem with the languages I speak. Keep practicing and it gets easier. If english is your native language it should be easy to stay in practice unless you live where its not spoken.

Yep. In the same way you can hear your own regional "accent" even though people think they "have no accent"

    Молодец.
