Is it normal that my mum just ignores me sometimes?

So basically i was asking my mum for something, like i do normally, and she just ignores me! I knew she heard me; i was standing in front of her. We did'nt even have an argument before or anything. It was a normal happy day. The thing is my mum always does this. I ask a question several times and she will outright igore me. And when i do this to her she thinks i don't give her enough respect. Is this normal?????

I could relate to that problem when I was 15 and my gymnastics career came to an end. I still had dance recitals and cheerleading competitions but she could never be bothered to attend any of those things even if she didn't have anything more important like my sister to tend to. But I fixed that after I graduated from high school and left for college far from her and the rest of them. I will never move back to within a days drive of her or any of the rest of them.

Maybe she isnt ignorning you purposely, but perhaps your mom has become a zombie.

We have zombies these days. It's because people be watching too much tv these days.

Slows their brains down. Makes it harder for some people to be aware of things

Sometimes kids just don't consider that adults might have things going on that are a bit more important than your question at that moment. She is not there to instantly respond to your every desire.
Give the old gal a break and try to understand that adults have feelings and moods, too.

I remember my mom doing that same thing quite vividly.

That means it's time for you to move out, and/or learn how to do things on your own without your moms help.

I'll bet you ignore her sometimes too, all kids do, so maybe she's trying to teach you what it feels like?

If you're expecting her to pay attention to you every single time you want her to and exactly when, you sound way too young to be on this site: like maybe about 3 years old?

That is quite unfortunate love,a mother should never deprive her child of her attention. What does your father say in all these.

So mothers have to always be instantly available for their children? Have you ever been a mother? It's one of the hardest jobs in the world
