Is it normal that my mother talks to me like i am a friend?

Hi. I'm not worried or anything, I really enjoy my mother talking to me like this, but I don't know if it is normal. You see, I'm the oldest of three, and I spend the most time with my mother. She has been talking to me more like a friend then a daughter when we are alone (No dad around). I have always been more mature, so I can reply to her like I was a friend. I talk to her both as a friend and a mom. She has once said that it isn't really normal, but we still talk like this. I was just wondering if this is normal ^-^

    Although I could never be friends with my parents, I always thought your situation was normal.

    It can be normal, but it depends. If your mom is expecting you to provide adult emotional support, and if she's been expecting that since you were a child, then that's unhealthy. Otherwise, it seems fine.

    I think it's normal, and it's good to have a good relationship with your mother. Mothers always know best. Talk and spend as much time as you can with her, make nice and happy memories so you'll be a good parent like she is.

    its totally normal, im the same with my mum shes more like a friend and sister rather than a mother, and its really good this way because i can tell her things without being scared that she might blow up unlike other parents, also shes a great mother cause she has boundaries =)

    I've never had that kind of relationship wit my mom. But i kind of have it with my dad, not like he is a friend, but an open minded and cool dad. Not to the point where i share things to him that i'd share with my close friends. but i feel free to talk to him. I guess your situation is normal. :)

    I have that kind of relationship with my mom. Of course there are moments when we don't get along, but when we do she's like a friend to me. I say it's totally normal.
