Is it normal that my mom slaps me when i say that her tone sounds mad?

Whenever I do somehing my mom disapproves of, she says things like, "WHAT ARE YOU DOING","EAT THE BITTER GOURD YOUNG WOMAN","STOP READING AND GO OUT MORE, FOR GOD'S SAKE". Sometimes she just shouts at me for doing wrong things that you don't even notice, like accidentally typing a word wrong while texting her, forgot to turn on the lights at the driveway, those kind of things. When that happens I say somethig along the lines of "Why are you so angry?" then she slaps me.

    i dont think you can get any help from a THErapists . Just survive this and you have won. thats all that is required. you can have a much happier life than your mother thats for damn sure.

    What your Mother did was Abuse.
    She had problems and was probably going through some tough times that made her angry for no apparent reason at all. Whatever it was; it didn't make up the excuse for hurting you on purpose.

    My mother was addicted to my dads second hand smoke. she had a nicotine addiction that went untreated. she go fucking berserk , and i got sewn up with stitches more than once. the way i see this is you have it great. I am not defending you fucking stupid mother. but when you have children your self , never slap them . i never hit my kids except a few times on the ass and only when they endangered their brothers or sisters. then you hold and hug them and tell them why you had to strike them . i dont think i ever had to spank one after they started school. speaking of school they dont teach kids to be parents, because the teachers are too busy having sex with students or fat shaming or bullying kids or giving them drugs to teach them anything useful. besides wanting to be paid more than a career cancer researcher they cant find the time to teach anything useful. life is what it is. you didnt get to pick your mom , your dad did that.

        Slapping kids when they misbehave has seemed to get more taboo over the years. Like 30 or 40+ years ago, spanking as discipline was considered a normal standard form of discipline as long as it didn't cross the line over to physical abuse. My mom told me a long time ago that a spank should be hard enough to get a kid's attention and to hurt or sting a little (like from a slap) maybe. But it should never be hard enough to where you really hurt or injure, because then that's abuse. If there's blood or any real injury, the parent has gone too far, no matter how bad the kid misbehaves. And its ok to spank, but never hit, punch, or kick, or throw any hard objects at your kid (when I was a kid, I knew a kid whos mom threw books at her kid when she got mad at him). Anyway, that's how it all was looked at a few decades ago and before it. But in the most recent decades, some people think that physical discipline is wrong altogether. But I've still known people in recent years who spanked their kids pretty good, and even yell things to them like "you little shit!!". Like alot of things now, it may seem to have become more taboo and something that people make stronger cases about nowadays, but there is still plenty of it still going on. You can say the same thing about racism also.
