Is it normal that my mom pisses me off constantly?

The way she chews, yawns, coughs, cries, how she talks too loudly, how she always mumbles to herself, the way she sniffs...She just can't seem to help but get under my skin. I also have a feeling that if other people were to do these things it might not bother me quite as much. Can anyone else relate to this? I don't hate my mom, I just find her highly irritating.

  • I AM THE EXACT SAME WAY!!! Just the way she walks or talks on the phone or the way she drives, it just makes me crazy and I have no idea why. Pretty normal if you ask me.

While I don't relate to it, I can imagine this is happening to you because there could be something else that's been bothering you about this person.

It's the same with me. I don't understand it either.

Yeah that's a common thing to happen especially as your relationship with a parent changes. It is also a common thing to happen in the later stages of a romantic relationship, and that's where it can get really tricky lol.

Maybe you spend too much time around her? Or maybe you're secretly pissed off and taking it out on her this way.

I agree, everything she does just annoys me lots! I don't really have any good reason, and if somebody else did the same things I wouldn't even notice, which is kind of weird.

As you grow older, you'll learn to appreciate your mom a lot more. I used to fight with my mom all the time in my teenage years. Now in my mid-20s and we get along great!

Is she a single mom? Maybe she just needs a good "going over". Or maybe you do. ;)
