Is it normal that my mom is super critical of...

...the guy I like. Seriously, she is so picky. It isn't even about things that matter...things that never occurred to me: too skinny, walks funny, etc. Do moms usually say stuff like this. I want to find someone that my parents absolutely adore. I don't know why, but ever since she found out we kinda had a thing for each other she has been super critical of him.

well i wouldnt want my daughter to date a skinny guy or someone who walks funny for these reasons. a skinny guy looks whimpy and i would want a protector for my daughter and the walking funny thing, well i would think that he likes to take it up the pooper. i am not saying that this is what you mum thinks but that is how i interpret it. my parents NEVER liked any of the guys i went out with. no one will ever be good enough for their little girl.

I get this comment but you cant judge everyone by the way they look. A skinny guy could be a super protector, and everyone walks different. What matters is how they treat the person....

Parents tend not to be picky, just protective. You shouldn't conform to what your mother thinks is good for you, but how you feel about someone. Find someone that you're comfortable with, not someone who your mother adores.

She eventually will get used to the fact that your life is your own to live and accept who you are and your choice in boys. If you like a boy, just see where it goes, don't hesitate because your mum doesn't like him for a little imperfection.

The thing that makes someone who they are is to like the good things about someone, so that the negative aren't so apparent. Don't change, just accept who you are.
