Is it normal that my mom gets mad when i ask whats for dinner.

My mom always gets mad when I ask her whats for dinner. She always says Im 18 and theres plenty of food in the kitchen (which theres not) and to make it myself. Now, its summer, Im going to college next month, and i have been looking for a job since April (its July now). Im not lazy. I would just like to know whats for dinner damnit.

Dude, I tell my 11 year old the same thing. And my 46 year old husband. "What's for dinner" implies that you are expecting it to be served up for you. Try asking "Hey Mom, what would you like to do for dinner tonight? I cook? You cook? We cook together? Go out? What are you thinkin?" instead of the same old 3 words "Whats for dinner" which is the bane of our overworked and overtired existence. Someday you will know WHY she says it.

I have recently had to work on "letting other people take care of themselves" because to be honest, taking care of grown adults and capable children drives a woman to drink. We mothers will go crazy screaming at everyone and never realize it's because they never do ANYTHING around the house or for themselves. Do you refill the toilet paper? do dishes? clean your room? take out the trash? WITHOUT BEING ASKED??? THINK ABOUT IT.

Mothers were not born to slave over a house and stove all day to feed and clothe you. You need to grow up and start taking care of your MOM instead of the other way around.

We are people too and we deserve some caring for once in a while. You're "looking for a job for 3 months?" really???

And the rest of you idiots saying "Your mom's a bitch welcome to the club" you will grow up to be very lonely people.

You and your mother are both adults now. Maybe you should start making her dinner to begin repaying her for the six thousand, five hundred and seventy four days she's done it for you. And also, just to learn how to do it.

I do know how to cook. I only ask her whats for dinner to see if were going out to eat, shes cooking it, or Im cooking it. I've been cooking since I was 8 thank you very much!

Why don't you get off your lazy @ss and surprise her by making dinner for her? Do the shopping, the preparation, the cooking, the serving, then the dishes ... every day for a month and when she hollers at you, "What's for dinner?" you'll understand why she gets mad!

My mom gets mad when we even say, "Mom ...? " She says, "I wish that bloody word had never been invented!"

Stop being so predictable and boring!

My mom is one of the nastiest bitches ever put on this earth! But, I do understand how repetitive questions start to annoy people. It's like a child saying, why why why - just to get some attention.

My husband and I have a great system, one of us cooks dinner and the other has to clean up the dishes, pots, etc.
