Im an adolescent and my relationship with my mom hasn't been very good for quite a while now. Whenever we get into a fight, she likes to say hurtful things to me. For example shes called me a retard, bitch, and telling me I have no friends and no one likes me. I personally don't think its normal. Does anyone else have parents that say similar things to you when they are angry?

When I was 18 I had my first girlfriend. She was 14. I was good friends with her family and often played board games with her and her parents. It wasn't a sexual relationship yet. Just good friends. Her Mom called her a bitch one night right in front of me, and I felt so bad for this girl. What a terrible thing for a mother to say to her own daughter, and especially in front of her boyfriend. No doubt the girl has long forgotten it, but I still remember decades later.
That's a despicable reality in some families. It's also a crime if your a minor. I would leave home and never come back, but I don't want you to do it. Instead, approach her and tell her the way she spoke to you is hurtful and demeaning and you won't tolerate it ever again.
It's not normal. My mother used to say hurtful thing to my older sister when we were growing up. She treated my sister the worst for some reason(well she did have her reasons but they were stupid reasons). Now my sister refuses to visit her and I don't blame her.
