Is it normal that my mom and i had almost the same dream last night?

My bernese mountain dog passed away from lymphoma in January, and my family gets very attached to our dogs. We cremated our dog and were planning on spreading his ashes in this particular bush that he loved to lay in, but we never ended up spreading his ashes.

Anyways.......... so basically last night I had a dream that Jonah (my dog's name) had come back. My mom walked in and said "look Jonah's back!" and I was petting him to see if he was really there, and he was! Then I said "how did he come back?" and my dad responded "well we never buried his ashes".
So that was my dream. Earlier today I told my mom about that dream and she told me that she had dreamt of Jonah last night also! Although her dream was something like he had lost all of his fur and was in an IV because he was so sick and was waiting to die...

But I was just wondering.. is it normal to have a dream about your pet coming back to life? is it normal for both my mom and me to have dreamt about our dog coming back to life on the same night? -- just as a reference neither my mom nor I have ever dreamt of Jonah previously

    INCEPTION.

But seriously, sorry you lost your dog. I know to some people they are like family. Obviously you both are on the same wavelength and think the same things and miss the dog. She might have been having those dreams often but did not mention them until you reminded her.

I recently lost my cat and am eager for him to show up in my dreams. Instead, my childhood dog has been visiting me in my dreams.

I'm sorry for your loss, but I think your dream is an indicator that it is time to scatter those ashes.

yeah the dog's passing is still fresh in both of your conciousness's. It's etched into your psyche. Dreams expand or symbolize pre existing thoughts in your head, so this is perfectly normal. Sorry to hear of your loss.
