When I woke up earlier, I had a real bad cramp in it. Is it normal?

I hate getting those :( Best way to stop them mid cramp is to stretch (which makes it feel worse) your toe up towards your knee. It'll go.

Best prevention is to drink more water. If that doesn't work, you might want to look into a magnesium supplement.

i think it may be the lack of movement when asleep, blood may not have circulating. drink water and try to stretch it out for sure

It could be from many things. You might have slept in an awkward position, one that may have compromised circulation.

It could mean that you are constipated or need to relieve your bladder. I know that may sound odd but I get cramps in my inner thighs when I really need to urinate and if I'm seriously constipated, my leg will start to hurt.

    You could be dehydrated.

There could even be a nutrient that is missing from your diet.

If it continues even after changes, make an appointment with a doctor.

If you get cramps at all, it means you have an imbalance in your body chemistry, a very serious condition, especially when you have not been exercising.
Thankfully, there is an extremely simple solution. Drink a liter or so of Gatorade, every few days. That's all.

Put it on something cold or try to cool it down ! It really helps and soothes it until it passes
