Is it normal that my leg hair is growing under my skin?

I recently noticed that instead of growing outside and out of my skin, my leg hairs are indeed, underneath my skin. I noticed it one day in the shower when I was shaving. I saw that my razor hadn't removed all of the hair on some spots so I continued to go over the area once more but it still failed to remove the hairs.

I decided to investigate why they haven't been removed during my routine shave and noticed that there is skin around the hair. I can't get to it. It makes sense why the razor hasn't been able to remove them but it worries me because I have never heard of this happening. It does hurt and it doesn't bother me I just find it.. a bit odd..

IIN?

yeah its ingrown hair, caused by shaving or waxing right to the root so it doest grow out properly where its meant to.

    • It's not ingrown hair either.. it's not red, irritated, and doesn't hurt. I can see the hair under my skin. It's grown about 1/4 of an inch so far since I can't get to it to cut it. It's only a bit under the skin. It isn't swollen either.

you could just also be really pale and you can see the root through the light pigmentation of your skin.

It could because you wear jeans, it's like when they but a tarp over grass and then rocks it doesn't let the grass grow

It's not an ingrown hair, I can not recall the specific name for it. But I have it also, now mine has a reasoning. I broke my back and have had 7 nerves burned, which affects the legs. I see a dermatologist they do labor hair removal, it's from an over production of skin cells from not having complete functions to my brains on how the nerves respond.

I also only wear jeans, so the hair gets scaved thinner, making it weaker, causing it to curl up

Yeah, the same has started happening to me recently, I have no idea what causes it, I'm a guy ,so I don't shave my legs... I think it has to do with exfoliation, like the dead skin gets a bit thick and prevents the hair from getting therough

I'd think it is ingrown hair, but that it has grown inwards for a while. I guess what you should do is to get the hair out of there with a tweezer. I don't know anything else.

How often do you shave your legs? Maybe reduce the frequency.

I honestly wouldn't know. Wish I could help, but I don't shave my legs that often.
