Is it normal that my knee still hurts a year after the injury?

I've always been a cluts, and after the years my knee has been getting weaker and weaker after wear and tear. Last year, I fell and landed on it and it hurt. Bad. My mom waited a few weeks, but it still hurt really bad especially after exercising. I made her take me to the hospital and they told me the bone was bruised and that it would heal in a few weeks, but I never saw anything on the bone xrays. I have a feeling they were wrong. Whenever I extend or bend my knee it cracks, and when I twist it a minor but sharp pain runs through it. It mostly hurts after exercising, and taking painkillers relieves it a little. If any of you might know what it is, please comment! I'm scared that I'll need surgery. Do you think something is wrong with the acl, the muscle, ligament, bone etc or is it normal for it to hurt?

I have a pain in my body over a slip and fall accident. Years later, obviously my bones arent broken but i feel pain every once in a while. You might want to wikipedia sciatica although, thats a hard "problem" to "diagnose". My best advice, boost your calcium and continue to stretch (even if it might hurt).

Vitamins are, okay yet, like any other kind of medication its something your body gets used to and there are other natural alternatives, Milk for example. And exercise just because; its better to feel pain and at least try to do something about it then to just, not do anything about it.

I would get a second opinion, and try to massage it and stretch it daily.

  • Get an MRI! Knee problems are the worst and if there is a serious problem you should find it asap. If there's a problem with your ligament, I'm sorry because you'll be fucked till death.

I would absolutely get a second opinion. I know a couple of people who have had knee problems corrected through surgery.

Go see a specialist, don't rely on the ER doctors to diagnose your problem.

Don't be scared to have surgery done! If you need it, you aren't just going to heal on your own, it's the only way to get better!
