Is it normal that my kids like to play naked in the sprinklers?
My son and daughter, 5 and 7 respectively, have gotten in the habit of this. Whenever the sprinklers come on, they'll rush to take their clothes off, run outside naked, and play in the water. My wife has allowed this behavior and says they're just having fun so I shouldn't worry about it. It also lets them cool in the hot weather. Plus, it's good to see them socializing as siblings, chasing each other and such. It's fine that they're going outside to play in the sprinklers, what bothers me is that they do it naked. I've suggested they wear swimwear while doing it but they insist on being naked. I'm not concerned about them seeing each other naked, and I suppose I'll allow that while they're young enough to not care about that sort of thing. My biggest concern is that they're outside, and even though our back yard is surrounded by a fence, they can still be seen. I'm also worried they might get the idea that this sort of thing is acceptable with people other than family members. My wife tells me to stop worrying and let them have their innocent fun while they're young. I don't think she sees the problems this could cause.
